4BBB Matchplay

Entries for our 4BBB Matchplay competition are still open, but not for much longer! This is a great opportunity to team up with a partner and enjoy some friendly competition throughout the season in one of the club's most popular events. We're still looking for additional pairs to join the draw. Entries close this Sunday, so don't miss out.

Why Back Nine Starts Are Not Permitted

Members are reminded that in Trophy and Medal competitions, all groups must commence their round from the 1st tee and play the course in the normal order.

This requirement is due to the countback system used to determine placings when players finish with the same score. Under the Golf Australia countback method, ties are decided based on scores over the last 9 holes (holes 10–18), then the last 6, last 3 and finally the 18th hole. If some groups were permitted to start on the back nine, they would effectively be playing a different sequence of holes, making the countback process unfair and inconsistent.

To ensure all competitors are assessed equally and results can be determined in accordance with the Rules of Golf and Golf Australia handicapping requirements, shotgun starts or back-nine starts are not permitted in Trophy and Medal events unless specifically approved as part of the competition conditions.

Missing Driver & Cart Key

A red and black Callaway Big Bertha driver belonging to Roy Hankinson has gone missing from the club cart shed. Roy's private cart key is also currently unaccounted for.

If anyone has any information regarding either item's whereabouts, please contact Club Secretary Angela Andrews on 0438 419 142 or reply to this email.

Roy generously volunteers a significant amount of his time maintaining and refuelling the club hire carts for the benefit of all members, so we would greatly appreciate any assistance in locating these items.

If the driver has been taken inadvertently or someone would prefer to return it anonymously, it can be left beside the Pro Shop door. Our primary concern is simply to have Roy's property returned.

Sunday Session 9 Hole Continues to Grow

Our Sunday Session 9-Hole competition continues to attract strong numbers each week and has quickly become a popular fixture on the club calendar. The relaxed format provides a great opportunity for members to enjoy a social round, remain competitive, and fit a game of golf into a busy weekend schedule.

Registration opens at 8:30am, with a shotgun tee-off at 8:45am. The $20 entry fee includes your competition fee and a burger after the round, making it great value and a fantastic way to spend a Sunday morning at the club.

With participation continuing to grow and positive feedback from members, the Sunday Session will remain an ongoing feature of our competition program. Whether you're a regular player or looking to get back into the game, we encourage all members to come along and join in.
