Course Bins
We’d like to ask everyone for a little extra care when disposing of bottles in the bins around the course.
Our bins are emptied every week by John Harris, who has been doing this job for many years and generously gives him time to help keep things running smoothly at the Club. We are extremely grateful for the work John does, and unfortunately a couple of weeks ago he cut himself while emptying a bin that contained a number of smashed glass bottles.
If you’re taking drinks out on the course, please use cans rather than glass bottles wherever possible. If you do take glass bottles onto the course, please take extra care when putting them in the bins to make sure they don’t get broken.
It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference to keeping John (and others) safe while he does a job that we all benefit from.
Big thanks to John for all the years he has spent doing the bins - we really appreciate you!
14th Hole Back Tee Renovation Underway
A big thank you to Mark Burke and the team at Burke’s Plant Hire for their assistance in removing the poplar tees and fence behind the 14th back tee. We really appreciate their help in getting this project underway.
This is the first stage of a tee renovation project aimed at improving the playing surface and long-term condition of the tee. The project will remove the intrusive poplar roots that have been affecting the tee, install a drainage layer, and raise the tee slightly for a better and more consistent playing experience.
While the back tee is out of play during the works, the blue and white tees have been temporarily moved to the forward tee box.
We’re looking forward to seeing the finished result and given the 14th back tee a much needed upgrade. A big thanks to Mark and the Burke’s Plant Hire team for helping us get the project started.

Mixed Foursomes
The Mixed Foursomes Championships will be played on Saturday 29th August 2026.
The first three timeslots from 8:00am have been reserved for Foursomes teams. Entrants are welcome to play at any time on the timesheet, however if you choose a later tee time you can’t expect to be let through by Stableford players.
Please contact Club Captain Tom Stewart 0488 090 649 to reserve a Mixed Foursome early tee time.
Competition Tee Times
Please ensure that you are on the tee box 5 minutes before your tee time.
With the increase in Saturday player numbers, it has been observed that groups are often waiting up to 10 minutes after their scheduled tee time before they can tee off. Being ready to play helps keep the day running smoothly for everyone.
Pace of Play Tips
Lost Balls - You have a maximum of 3 minutes to search for a lost ball. There is a timer in the MiScore App that may assist. Tap the round timer button to start the timer.
Out of Bounds - If there is any doubt a ball may be out of bounds, play a provisional ball.
Buggy Positioning - Park buggies on the next tee side of the green. For example, on the 4th green, park on the right hand side of the green towards the 5th tee.
Keeping Up - If your group has fallen behind the group in front, please take action to make up time. For example, two players can get ready to tee off on the next tee while the others are putting out on the green. It is the responsibility of the lowest marker in the group to maintain the pace of play.
A little effort from everyone makes a big difference and helps keep the field moving for all players.
A Reminder About Practice Balls
We’ve noticed a significant increase in the number of stray balls being left around the course after people have been practising.
We have a practice range with mats available for exactly this purpose, so please use the range when you want to hit multiple balls and work on your game.
Of course, members and visitors are welcome to head out onto the course for a practice round, but hitting large numbers of balls around the course is not acceptable. Leaving numerous practice balls scattered across fairways and rough makes it much harder for players to identify and find their own balls during competition rounds.
Please be considerate of your fellow members and other golfers using the course. Practice on the range, play on the course, and help us keep the course enjoyable and fair for everyone.
Thanks for your cooperation!
Volunteer Cup - Saturday 12th September
It’s time to celebrate the people who help make Cooma Golf Club what it is - our amazing volunteers!
On Saturday 12th September, we’ll be holding our inaugural Volunteer Cup, in conjunction with the Skins Qualifier Round 9.
Everyone is welcome to play, with the Club Volunteer who records the best Stableford score taking home the Volunteers Green Jacket, the Volunteers Cup and a fantastic prize - a Callaway Odyssey AI-Dual Jailbird Mini ½ Ball Putter!
There will be a 9:00am shotgun start followed by a BBQ Lunch and Presentation after golf.
The day is all about recognising and celebrating the many people who give their time to support the Club. Whether you help out in the Pro Shop, the Bar, Functions, Bookkeeping, Working Bees, Course Maintenance or in any of the many other ways that keep the Club running, we want to say thank you.
We hope as many of our volunteers as possible can join us for a great day of golf, good food and a chance to celebrate everything you do for Cooma Golf Club.

Need a new putter? If you’re a Club Volunteer, you could win this one!
